Santiago Sierra

Artvehicle 28/Recommended

30th November 2007 — 19th January 2008

This is a more mature exhibition from professional enfant terrible Santiago Sierra. These new works are explicitly political rather than misanthropic. In an empty room a voice reads out the names of people who have been 'disappeared' in Mexico. A colour chart records the average skin colour of people from differing economic brackets in Caracas. The galleries are filled with Minimalist blocks of sanitised faecal matter nestled in their packaging, along with video documentation from recent works, including the pumping of car exhaust fumes into a gallery.
